SHAMANIC Healing

WHAT IS SOUL RETRIEVAL?

Soul retrieval is a type of spiritual healing that has been practiced in shamanic cultures for over 40,000 years. In this process the shaman journeys into spirit realms with the support of drumming and ritual, to retrieve lost parts of the client's soul. Many believe that "soul loss" is epidemic in today's society and can result from trauma, personal tragedy, injury, negative emotions, and even isolation from nature. The result often manifests as depression, chronic illness, loss of vitality, and disconnection from one's purpose and passion. When our fragmented soul parts are returned and honored, we feel a sense of peace, healing, and connection.

A soul retrieval session lasts about an hour and a half. The practitioner first finds out from the client what major issues they may be experiencing on an emotional, physical, or spiritual level. After making the client comfortable, the practitioner "journeys" with the help of spirit allies into non-ordinary reality. An assistant may provide shamanic drumming, or a tape or CD may be used. The recovery of soul parts is done in a type of daydreaming state that is referred to as a shamanic state of consciousness. Soul parts are returned to the client's heart by blowing them through a crystal the shaman carries while journeying.

One of the most healing parts of this process is the story the practitioner shares with the client about the visions seen during a journey. These visions are of the beauty and perfection of the client's soul that has now been returned.

After the session the practitioner often provides suggestions for soul nurturing that are specific to each client.
